Urban Beats

Spring 2019

Victoria Rodriguez

College of Arts & Sciences

This initiative is based on Rodriguez's research methods in psychology course, in the

which the professor will provide students with the opportunity to engage in community-
based participatory research. CBPR uses various research methodologies and techniques

in order to work with communities. As students learn about various research methods in
the classroom, they will be able to apply what they’ve learned to collaborate with
community partners in order to investigate real-world and community-based issues.
Students will be working in of 3-5 with three different community partners: Jeff Davis, at
the Linda Vista Branch Library, John Nielsen, of the Linda Vista Town Council, and one
additional partner.
