This project explores modes of engagement with the Bayside Community Center over two semesters. During Fall 2016, my "Sustainable Development" course conducted an open-ended inquiry into how we could meaningfully help advance BCC's objectives. The organization's most pressing priority being the promotion of food security in Linda Vista, we are compiling a report on options for growing BCC's community garden. Spring 2017 is still indeterminate, but the general idea is to use my "Program Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation" course as a project-based learning platform for students, while simultaneously providing BCC with a high-quality evaluation of the impacts of one or more of its current programs. Such an evaluation could then be used to secure the maintenance or expansion of funding.
